International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) has been celebrated annually since its inception in 2000 by the US Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Murray State University invites faculty, staff, and students to participate each year by attending a session, performance, forum, event, or other scholarly or creative opportunity that celebrates international education.

A representative from our office will be in 135 Blackburn Science Building every Monday at 3 p.m. and Thursday at 11 a.m. to help answer questions. No appointment is needed - just stop on by!

Join us for an engaging panel where past study abroad students share their unfiltered experiences of studying abroad. This conversation will explore the realities not always shown in the highlight reels – everything from culture shock and loneliness to personal growth through adversity. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask live, anonymous questions in an open-space setting that allows for authentic dialogue about the ups and downs of life abroad.

The Fall 2025 program has course offerings in ART, BUS, ENG, FIN, GER, HON, HUM, and LSC. that are submitted by December 1st get first priority on this limited-space program.

Are you hoping to participate in a KIIS program? Meet ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ KIIS program directors and faculty and ask questions about their upcoming programs. Additional Education Abroad Office staff will be on hand to help you work on your application and learn more about the study abroad process.

Faculty on the upcoming KIIS Paris I, Prague, Spain I, and Turkey programs will be there to answer questions!

 

4:00 p.m. - Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship Information Session

If you are a Pell Grant recipient applying to study abroad, then you’re eligible to apply for the Gilman Scholarship, a program of the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). Attend this session to learn more about the application process and how to make your application competitive.
