Faculty and Staff
Faculty Study Abroad Ambassadors (FSAAs) ensure that the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ faculty and staff communities are aware of the amazing study abroad opportunities available to our students. FSAAs also act as mentors to our faculty and staff by helping inspire them to teach and participate in professional development abroad.
FSAAs:

Serve as a point of contact for faculty and staff who wish to teach abroad

Serve as a point of contact for students within their academic department who are interested in studying abroad by providing relevant program information and materials

Act as a liaison between the Education Abroad Office and the academic department and help disseminate information about program and scholarship deadlines, pending or approved course equivalencies, and new study abroad curriculum opportunities for integration within the department

Interested faculty and staff can participate in a ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ program by:

Teaching or directing an existing ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ signature program with established course offerings

Proposing new course offerings for upcoming signature programs

Proposing new signature programs with all new courses and cultural experiences
Ready to apply? When you're ready to pitch your ideas, use the to apply for future program terms. Keep in mind that the proposal deadline is January 15th of each year and should feature program proposals set to depart during the following academic year.

Faculty or staff seeking to teach and/or lead programs abroad with either the Kentucky Institute for International Studies () or the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad () should apply directly with those programs.

IPD programs are a unique way for faculty and staff to gain insight into how study abroad programs operate, the challenges international students face when they come to the U.S., and new ways to infuse international content into existing courses or create new courses with an international focus. Programs can include:

- Additional IPD opportunities to be announced

The Global Engagement Outreach Awards are given to faculty and staff who seek to create new and innovative international education programming within or beyond the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ campus classroom. Awards are distributed when funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Application materials can be obtained by contacting the Director of the Education Abroad Office.
