Student Organizations
OMAS is ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Art Department's club for the artistically inclined. It hosts an Annual Student Art Exhibition in the Clara M. Eagle Gallery featuring over 100 student made works. See what we're doing on .
Art/Teaching Certification majors are encouraged to join the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ National Art Education Association (NAEA) student chapter. This active group not only connects you to other preservice art educators on campus but it also supports your transition through the degree and into teaching. Together, we advocate for a high standard of quality art education on campus and in the community by hosting informational meetings, sponsoring events, and volunteering in the community. Our members are also actively involved in the Kentucky Art Education Association (KyAEA) and have the option to travel to either the state or national art education conferences.
The Clay Club
The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Clay Club is a student organization whose goals are to foster the education and camaraderie of students in the ceramics area and to educate the university and community at large about the field of ceramics. Students in the Clay Club take part in community activities and fundraising to help bring in visiting artists and support student educational travel. Students are able to attend the NCECA conference (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts).
The Design Group
The Design Group is affiliated with the of the and is open to anyone interested in graphic design. The organization is a vehicle for students to create design work for on-campus events, organizations, and client work. Money raised by the organization is used to fund student travel to conferences and/or to bring visiting designers to campus.
The Print Club
If you love printmaking then this group is for you! The Print Club regularly takes trips to local conferences and brings in visiting printmakers. The Print Club is funded by the annual print sale where hundreds of student and visiting artist prints are up for grabs. Membership requires enrollment in a printmaking course.
