Mission Statement
The Office of Student Organizations creates and fosters leadership and involvement opportunities that enhance personal, interpersonal and organizational development for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ students.
About Us
The Office of Student Organizations recognizes student organizations through a yearly registration/re-recognition process. Registered Student Organizations are provided with on-going communication that keeps them up to date on important information and provides details about events in which members can be involved. The Office of Student Organizations also supplies resources through the Resource Center and meets with organizational members who need assistance in maintaining their organization. Students looking to get involved can also visit the office, website, information sessions, and the student organization fair to find out more information on what opportunities are available to them.
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ believes that your life outside the classroom is just as important as what you do inside the classroom. The faculty and staff feel that in order to have a full and enriched educational experience students should get involved with as many student organizations and activities as their schedule will permit. Not only will students feel a greater sense of belonging to ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ and its traditions, but they will be better prepared to enter the work force because they will have a greater understanding of balancing work, relaxation, and campus activities, as well as a sense of accomplishment. If a student carefully plans out-of-class activities, it will help to guarantee that student will become one of those well-prepared and well-rounded citizens of the world.
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ offers many leadership opportunities through involvement in any of the 150+ Registered Student Organizations on campus. One of the services provided by the Office of Student Organizations is maintaining a Registered Student Organization Directory. In the directory you will find all the Registered Student Organizations on campus listed alphabetically and by category; included will be the organization's Statement of Purpose and contact information. Feel free to email any Registered Student Organization(s) with your questions.
There is a wide range of activities offered through involvement in Registered Student Organizations. A student can take part in activities in each of the following twelve categories: Open (open to all students), Greek, Residential, Sports/Recreation, Political, Religious, Service, Departmental, Professional, Honor Society, Environmental & International. The Office for Registered Student Organizations encourages each ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ student to get involved.
