Six departments in the Jesse D. Jones College of Science, Engineering and Technology prepare students for careers in a variety of fields with applications like physics, engineering, industrial technology, occupational safety and health, biological sciences, chemistry, wildlife conservation, earth and environmental science, sustainability, telecommunications systems management and so much more.
Our mission
The mission of the Jesse D. Jones College of Science, Engineering and Technology is to provide quality educational experiences in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology at the undergraduate and graduate levels through excellent instruction, pure and applied research, and outreach to the service region.
Science, Engineering and Technology programs
We offer a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree options.
Biology
Includes Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Secondary Certification, Fisheries/Aquatic Biology, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Pharmacy, Pre-Physician Assistant, Pre-Physical Therapy, and Wildlife and Conservation Biology.
Chemistry
Includes Chemistry, Secondary Certification, Pre-Med and Pre-Dental, Pre-Pharmacy Students, Biochemistry, Forensics, and Polymer and Materials Science.
Earth and Environmental Sciences
Includes BS degree programs in Anthropology, Archaeology, Earth Science Secondary Certification, Environmental Science, Geography and GIS, and Geology; and, Minors in Anthropology, Archaeology, Earth Science, Environmental Geology, Geographic Information Science (GIS), Globalization and Development, and Sustainability Studies.
School of Engineering
Includes Civil and Sustainability Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Physics, Construction and Architecture Management, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics - Pre MBA, Physics - Secondary Certification, Design Engineering Technology, Cybersecurity and Network Management, and associate degree options.
Mathematics and Statistics
Includes Mathematics, Secondary Certification, Applied Mathematics, and Pre-MBA option.
Occupational Safety and health
Includes a major in Occupation Safety and Health or a minor in Occupational Safety and Health.

Endowed Professors Appointed
In 2013, Dr. Jesse D. Jones established an endowment to support the appointment of distinguished tenured professors to be recognized for their outstanding teaching effectiveness, scholarly productivity, and engagement with campus and professional constituencies. The endowment guidelines indicate that successful nominees for this award will show continued promise for professional accomplishment resulting in increased visibility and recognition for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ and JCSET at the national and international levels, and benefiting the students of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ through enhanced learning opportunities.
